MCA Full Form, What does MCA stand for?

The Full form of MCA

The Full Form of MCA is a Master of Computer Applications, and it is a professional course in the field of Information Technology (IT) and Computer Science (CS). It is a postgraduate or master’s degree and is offered in most colleges and universities that offer integrated courses in Information Sciences. This degree is also sometimes called as M.Sc. IT or Master of Science in Information Technology which makes it ideal for those who have finished their BCA degree or have done any other professional undergraduate course prior to this. The fact that MCA is a professional degree ensures that those who pursue the course won’t require much training after joining the workforce.

The curriculum of the course is developed by a joint committee formed by the Association for Computing Machinery or ACM as well as the Association for Information Systems. This allows them to develop a model that is suitable for MCA, as well as other MSIT courses. It is a course which is mostly concerned with the discipline of Information Technology and does not inform students much about other aspects relating to computer science. The curriculum is a step up from BCA as it dives into the fields of Systems Analysis, Data Communications, Systems Designs, Cybersecurity, Project Management, and Database Design.

The course allows one to be ready to work as a software developer, however in today’s market when Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are becoming dominant, this degree is slowly becoming obsolete. Some software firms may still hire people graduating from this course.
