MC Full Form, What does MC stand for?

The Full form of MC

MC Full Form – The full form of MC is the Menstrual Cycle that is the repetition of menstruation every month. Females who have undergone puberty experience menstrual bleeding once a month until menopause.

The menstrual cycle takes place through the changes in levels of hormones, produced by the pituitary gland, hypothalamus, and the ovaries. There are three phases in the cycle.

The Follicular Phase– This is the initial stage, the days 1 to 14. The start of this phase is marked by bleeding on day 1 and lasts till ovulation. Even while bleeding, the ovaries prepare for ovulation simultaneously. FSH is released from the pituitary gland. Eventually, a follicle matures and develops into an egg. This mature follicle produces estrogen days prior to ovulation and the endometrium of the uterus becomes thicker with blood. The release of GnRH stimulates the production of LH. FSH and LH cause the egg to be released.

The Ovulatory Phase– Day 14, the egg enters the fallopian tubes. If sperm is present, it may fertilize the egg. But if fertilization does not happen within 24 hours, the egg disintegrates. After the release of the egg, the follicle gets sealed, termed as corpus luteum.

The Luteal Phase– This is the last phase from day 15 to 28. FSH and LH levels decrease. The egg descends into the uterus. The corpus luteum produces progesterone which prevents the endometrial lining to shed, in case it is fertilized. However, if not fertilized then the corpus luteum eventually disintegrates, declining progesterone and breaking down of the egg. This signals the uterus to begin shedding the endometrium.

The usual cycle normally ranges from 21 to 35 days of intervals.
