Although students find social studies quite dull, there are various methods to make it interesting. Flash cards, timelines and mnemonics can make the subject interesting. You can also make notes that help you learn better. 

Social studies is a bit tedious since it requires a lot of learning work. You need to earn the dates and events. Some children are quite good at learning while others are good at understanding. Civics and economics require more understanding.

Since you are free to choose the subjects in class 11th, some students decide to make social studies a career. Social studies can be an exciting career option. 

  • Simply read the chapter without trying to remember anything. 
  • Prioritise the topics according to marks weightage and easy and difficult lessons.
  • Make notes where required.
  • Create a chart of important dates.
  • Use flash cards. Flash cards are fun and help to learn faster.
  • Practice map work.
  • Try to understand economics and civics. They don’t require much learning.
  • Solve previous years sample papers.
  • Keep one month for revision.
  • Use mnemonics.

Social science is a major discipline and is concerned with the relationship of a society with an individual. It gives us knowledge about the world and society around us. Economics, history, geography, political science can be together considered as social science. 

Social studies helps young and inquisitive minds and insight of the past. With the help of the past, they can determine the future. They can also learn the consequences of certain events.
