ADB Full Form The Full Form of ADB in the banking sector is Asian Development Bank. It is a regional development in the Phillipenes. It was established in 1966, on the 19th of December, and has maintained 31 global offices over the last 53 years. It is in charge of promoting socio-economic development in Asia, and of admitting members into the UNO’s Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, along with non-regional countries. The ADB has 68 members currently, with more likely to join in the coming years.

During its establishment, the ADB has been closely modeled on the World Bank, along with a similar administrative and voting structure. The votes for important decisions are distributed in proportion with the member’s capital subscriptions. It has an annual report to summarize the operations it conducted, the budgets it formed, among other features for public reviewing. This has significantly improved its global popularity as a development bank.

It recently launched the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program which launched a few years ago, and enrolls 300 students annually in the academic institutions in 10 countries in the region. After the completion of their education, these scholars are expected to contribute back to the development of the socio-economic sectors of their home countries. It is an official UNO Observer, and it’s largest shareholders are Japan (15.67%), US (15.56%), China (6.47%), and India (6.35%). They are in charge of managing its various facilities and administrating the way it functions and operates.
